Since 1999 I have advocated for food access for children in structural settings and informally.

Particular areas where I have real life experience with communities are:

  • Local food connections to anchor institutions: Central Ohio Local Food Action Plan, Franklin County Public Health- Ohio Days

  • Food waste and reduction: SWATCO and The Ohio State Food Waste Collaborative

  • Nutrition education and wellness: School Nutrition Association, The Ohio Department of Education Office of Integrated Services 

  • SNA Legislative Action Committee to lobbying Congress. SNAP and the Farm Bill

  • Consultant to school and pre-school kitchen business start-ups: The Ohio Association of School Business Officials, Food and Nutrition Chapter

  • Food Safety- ServSafe and best practices

  • Volunteer baker for worthy causes: Bakers Against Racism and other local and national fund raisers. 

I am excited to connect with individuals, groups, and institutions to foster growth and build access across all of the food systems we live with.
